Lindsey has always had a passion for horses and became accredited by a British Eventing Coach to participate in British Eventing at age 14. After completing her A-Levels and gaining a foundation degree in Equine Sports Performance and Coaching, she decided to pursue a career in the equestrian industry.
At age 23, she then founded Cheffings Equine with her partner Stuart. For the next 3 years she worked with Master Saddler Nathaniel Underwood and also went to Holland to expand her knowledge and education.
In 2013 she became the youngest person and one of only 3 in the UK to gain International Saddle Fitting Qualifications at University level. Today, Cheffings Equine are both retail member of the Society of Master Saddlers and a member of the British Equestrian Trade Association.
She works closely with Physiotherapists, Vets and Trainers, and will assist remedial cases in saddle fitting.
In 2021 Lindsey gained the title of Master Saddle Fitter by the Society of Master Saddlers, an accolade earned by qualified saddle fitters who have many years experience of saddle fitting, who have demonstrated high expertise and have had high levels of client satisfaction. Lindsey now specialises in remedial work.
Stuart founded Cheffings Equine in 2009 alongside Lindsey. With horses always being in his life, he has become a keen horseman and has competed at British Eventing and British Showjumping with his horse Jack!
Along with Lindsey, stuart purchased Horses in Sport saddlery to expand their business in 2016. Because of this, they won the British Equestrian Trade Association Award for the best Tradestand at the Festival of British Eventing.
With both businesses expanding quickly, stuart then went on to support Lindsey saddle fitting and followed in her footsteps becoming a Master Saddle Fitting Consultant and gaining his flocking qualifications with the society of master saddlers. Stuart is well known for his experience with numerous saddle brands and trees. He focuses on fitting good quality second hand saddles as well as new.
